Born in Savonlinna, Finland
Lives & works in Keuruu, Finland
Ulla-Maija Raittila is exploring humanity and existence in her art work. She has studied life sciences all her life and this exploration into humanness continues with her art.
All her work relate to humanology and what it means to be a human being in this time and in all times. She is investigating human emotions, reactions and thoughts through figures and colors. Also the Mind is everlasting interest of her and how the Mind is at the same time concrete and subtle and how it is pulling our hair whether we want it or not.
In her exhibitions she has been unraveling multiple sides of human personality and exploring the impact that genome has on our minds and decision making through methods of painting, photography and installations.
